Course Description
The Santo da Serra Golf Club overlooks the bay of Machico, the location where the island discoverers boarded the island.
The original course, built in 1937, was redesigned in 1991 by the renowned golf architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., who crafted a spectacular and completely new 27-hole course amidst some of the most beautiful natural scenery.
Holes 3 and 4 of the Machico course are the hallmark, becoming memorable for those who play here.
The Machico and Desertas courses are the ones played by professionals in the Madeira Islands Open, which is part of the PGA European Tour. The Serras course is a pleasant alternative featuring lakes, mountain views, and flat terrain.
Each hole offers four tee options, allowing players to choose the level of difficulty they prefer – whether a more relaxed game or a challenge at a professional level.
Looking over the bay of Machico, where the Portuguese navigators first landed Madeira Island, lies the Santo da Serra Golf Club.

The MACHICO and the DESERTAS courses are the ones that are usually played on the Madeira Island Open, while the SERRAS Course slightly plain, maintains the same game level.

Handicap: We recommend golfers with a handicap of 28 or below for men and 36 or below for women.
If there are no available tee times: This means that the tee times for the requested date are fully booked. However, if you inquire through 1:1 chat (or email for countries outside Korea), we will check for available tee times and assist you in making a reservation.
For bookings with less than 4 players: You may be joined by other players on-site. We cannot guarantee solo play.
Golf course policies: Due to the golf course's operating policies and local conditions, there may be changes to the reserved tee time or it may run earlier or later than scheduled. Refunds or cancellations are not possible for any such changes.

Golf Course Reservation/Usage Guideline
Please Review Before Your Round!
* Attach your name tag (English) on the golf bag prior to your round.
* Choice of your course is subject to change depending on the condition of the field.
* Depending on the golf course's operational policies and local conditions, your tee-off time may be delayed compared to your reserved time.
* Please arrive at the clubhouse at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of your golf round.
* Refunds and rescheduling are not possible if the round cannot proceed due to personal reasons.
* Golf course operating policies and on-site conditions may lead to changes in reserved tee times without prior notice, especially during the peak winter season at golf courses in Southeast Asia, where tee-off times may experience some delays. Refunds and cancellations due to this are not possible.
Rain and Natural Disasters Policy
* (ex, Southeast Asia) Golf courses usually hold rounds even in rainy season. Since it is a squall, in most cases, it continues to play after temporarily avoiding the rain. Therefore, advance cancellations and green fee refunds due to rain are not available as in Korea. Please be sure to follow the operation policy (ex, rain coupon, etc.) for each golf course after visiting the site.
